Elevated conductivity-poor settling? - Water and Wastewater.com Help Forum

Water and Wastewater.com Help Forum - Elevated conductivity-poor settling??

Normally the higher the conductivity the higher the destabilization of colloidal particles, i.e. aggregation and settling is enhanced. The same phenomenon occurs in estuaries when silty water mixes with salt water. This relates to the compression of the electric double layer with increasing electrolyte concentration, the repulsion is reduced.
